Are mini-splits good for the desert?
Yes — particularly for the rooms a central system was never sized to handle. Because each head is controlled independently, you cool the space you’re actually in rather than paying to condition the whole house to fix one hot room.
Can you cool a casita, garage, or workshop?
Those are the most common mini-split jobs we do in Tucson. A detached casita or an insulated garage is straightforward. An uninsulated garage in full sun is possible but needs realistic expectations, and we’ll tell you that before quoting.
How much does a mini-split cost?
It depends on the number of zones, the capacity needed, and how far the line set has to run. We quote in writing after seeing the space — a single-zone head in an easy location and a four-zone system are very different jobs.
Are they loud?
No — that’s one of the main reasons people choose them. The compressor lives outside and the indoor head is quiet enough for a bedroom or a home office.
